How can I help?

With more than 35 years in the IT sector, Mike has a deep understanding of the things that need to go right, in order for a business software implementation to be a success.

Experience includes supplying and implementing complex business software solutions for large corporates, multi-nationals and government departments in both New Zealand and Australia, as well as 7 years' experience in London, Europe and the US.
  1. Discovery
The first step is to establish the current position - an audit of your software systems and a discussion about your current frustrations, and future wants and needs. You'll understand whether your current system and vendor are the right fit, or if it's time to look at new technology and systems. .
  2. Research
Once we understand the current position and your future business plans, I'll conduct research to see whether your current system - and most importantly the vendor - is able to partner with you to achieve the desired outcome. If not, I'll scan the market and identify potential systems and vendors, and draw up a shortlist of those to talk to.
  3. Recommendation
At this stage we'll have a good understanding of the best way forward - continue on the current path with a good remedial plan to help you get the most out of the software. Or the second option, consider a change of system and/or vendor, if the circumstances dictate. This is not an option to be taken lightly, as it involves cost, change and work.
  4. Remedial action plan
Often your current system will be perfectly suitable for your needs, but for various reasons you're just not feeling the love. I'll draw up an action plan with names, positions and responsibilities, to help the organisation get significantly more value from your investment.
  5. Selection
Sometimes you're ready for a change - whether due to a technology advance, a vendor losing interest in the market or you as a client, or simply that a legacy system has run its course and needs to be replaced. There are some key critical success factors in choosing a solution and vendor; let me guide you through this process.
  6. Implementation planning
This is probably the key factor in determining how successful a new software implementation will be. After all, you don't want another Novopay, or INCIS on your hands. Let my 25+ years of implementing business software help your organisation to get the best possible outcome from your investment in time, effort and money. Make this one stick!
